Records Request

Overview

To obtain a copy of a police report or police incident entry, you will need to fill out a Records Request Form. The completed form may be submitted online, mailed, faxed, or hand delivered to the Police Department. The form is also available in Spanish by clicking here.

Please note that not all reports or information in a report are subject to public release. Reports involving domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and elder abuse are a few examples of confidential reports that have stringent release guidelines. The victim of domestic violence can request a copy of their report at the earliest time to facilitate the acquisition of a restraining order.

The timeline between filing a request and receiving the report can be 7 to 10 days. If you are a criminal defendant a full copy of the report is presented to your attorney, after charges are filed by the District Attorney.

For more information or to inquire if you are able to obtain a copy of a report, please contact the Records Bureau at 707-431-3490.
