Volunteer Program

Volunteers raking leaves

The Healdsburg City Council has approved a much-needed volunteer program to address the top areas of concern for older adults: transportation, housing and home maintenance.

The City of Healdsburg volunteer program is a multifaceted program that captures the generous spirit of Healdsburg. It provides volunteers an opportunity to give back to their community in many ways, including the DASH volunteer-driver program for seniors, a home-maintenance program, SHARE Healdsburg, a shared-housing opportunity in partnership with SHARE Sonoma County, and supporting the many existing volunteer opportunities within the community.

For detailed information on the program, check out this informational presentation from the February 19, 2019, City Council meeting.

Would you like to volunteer? Opportunities are structured for all community members, from youth to those who have retired. Please fill out our Volunteer Application and submit it to Volunteer Coordinator Donna O'Brien at the Senior Center, dobrien@cityofhealdsburg.org or (707) 431-3492.

The DASH Volunteer Driving Program is scheduled to launch as a pilot program in the June of 2019. This program will be a way for seniors who no can longer drive to remain engaged in the community and thrive. The program is in the final stages of development and is currently seeking volunteer drivers and interested riders. Anyone interested in volunteering can attend an informational meeting on July 10th at 12 p.m. and/or 6 p.m. at the Senior Center. For more information please visit the program web page.
